Dress Shopping at Ivry Lane

Shopping for your wedding dress is a dream experience for most girls. I was never a girl who fantasized about my wedding, except when it came to shopping for my wedding dress. My only problem with wedding dress shopping is the cost. Paying thousands of dollars for a dress I will only wear once is not logical to me, no matter what my budget is. That is why, back when I thought my wedding was going to be in September, I just ordered my dress online. Cue the FOMO.

The dress I bought is beautiful, and fits perfectly for something I ordered without trying on first. It was extremely affordable, which I love. But I still want that dress shopping experience. On top of that, this dress is the only one I’ve tried on. I don’t want to settle, when I can have the dress of my dreams. So, I made an appointment at my local bridal boutique, Ivry Lane Gown & Tux to shop for and try on dresses.

To say that this shop is adorable is an understatement. Located in downtown Brownsburg, this boutique-size store is just the right size to make you feel that you have an assortment of options without overwhelming you. It is owned and operated by one woman, the wonderful and vivacious Sydney. Walking in, we were immediately welcomed with nothing but positive energy. We sat down and had a quick chat about what I had already bought, and what I might be looking for. Then she had us go through the dresses, picking out what we liked, while she picked what she wanted to see me in.

Sydney was so easy to talk to and we were cracking up the whole time. She had me trying on dresses I never would have picked out myself, and I was surprised to find I didn’t hate how they looked on me. But, I ended up falling in love with one in particular. No other dress could compare. That’s right!

I said yes to the dress!

Though my original dress was much cheaper, this dress made me feel like a bride in a way my first one didn’t. Plus, it still wasn’t that expensive and she is willing to do a payment plan! My experience with Ivry Lane and Sydney was amazing, and I am so glad I decided not to settle.

The dress I decided on is not pictured in this post! That will have to be a surprise!
